2010 marked the launch of my first-ever thriller trilogy from HarperCollins' AVON BOOKS imprint. The first title, LIVE TO TELL, quickly became a New York Times and USA Today bestseller and was a nominee for the Mystery Writers of America’s Mary Higgins Clark Award at the 2011 Edgars. SCARED TO DEATH, released in January 2011, was awarded the Westchester Library Association’s Washington Irving Prize for fiction. Publisher’s Weekly called SCARED TO DEATH a “compelling, well-crafted suspense novel,” and Bookreporter’s Joe Hartlaub said “Staub can wring more terror out of a walk down the hallway of a New York townhouse than many authors can conjure out of a whole city.” The trilogy will conclude with HELL TO PAY in September 2011. I’m currently in the midst of writing a brand new trio of suspense novels to be released by HarperCollins’ Avon Books in 2012. The first, NIGHTWATCHER, is set in Manhattan in September, 2001, where a cunning serial killer is taking advantage of the chaotic aftermath of the World Trade Center attacks. The second title, SLEEPWALKER, opens on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, when a shocking death triggers a human predator to blaze a new bloody trail through suburbia. The last line of SLEEPWALKER introduces a shocking twist that opens the third book, SHADOWKILLER.
My young adult paranormal series LILY DALE, titled after and set in the real-life upstate New York spiritualist community, continues to develop a following and remains under development for television. All four titles are also available in audio format at www.audible.com.
